OUR SEASONS
1.
SUMMER - April to August
From 6U through High School, our summer programs combine age-appropriate skill development, league play, and competitive opportunities.
2.
FALL- August to September
Keep playing, build skills, and gain more game experience in a shorter fall season.
3.
WINTER CLINIC- January to March
Offseason clinics provide opportunities to work on fundamentals and prepare for the next season.
EVALUATIONS AND
TEAM FORMATION
St. Louis Park Fastpitch forms teams with the goal of providing a positive experience that supports player development, teamwork, and an appropriate level of competition.
6U & 8U Team Formation
At the 6U and 8U levels, teams are formed by elementary school whenever possible, allowing players to participate with classmates and friends. While we make every effort to group players by school, team assignments also depend on registration numbers, roster sizes, and overall team balance. Evaluations are not required at these levels.
10U & Older Team Formation
Beginning at the 10U level, St. Louis Park Fastpitch uses player evaluations to help form teams that provide an appropriate level of competition and opportunities for continued development.
Evaluations assess players in several areas, including hitting, fielding, throwing, catching, speed, and overall softball skills. The goal is to better understand each player's abilities and place them in an environment where they can develop and be successful.
Teams are formed using evaluation results, with consideration given to skill level, experience, positional needs, and overall team balance. While friendships and previous team placements may be considered, they do not determine team assignments.
Our goal is to create teams that support individual growth, teamwork, and long-term player development while providing a fun experience.
