RAISE YOUR GAME
Our 14U program provides athletes with a more competitive softball experience while continuing to prioritize player development, teamwork, confidence, and preparation for the next level. Players refine advanced skills, strengthen their understanding of game situations and strategy, and compete against increasingly challenging competition throughout the season.
Teams are formed through player evaluations, with consideration given to skill level, experience, positional needs, and overall team balance. At this level, athletes are expected to take greater ownership of their development, compete with purpose, and contribute to a team-first environment built around effort, communication, sportsmanship, and continued growth.

14u Player Development Focus
Players at the 14U level continue developing:
- Advanced hitting mechanics and situational hitting
- Defensive positioning and positional specialization
- Pitching and catching development
- Base running and stealing strategies
- Softball IQ and situational gameplay
- Leadership, teamwork, and competitive confidence
As players progress through the season, coaches focus on preparing athletes for high school softball and future competitive opportunities through increased game strategy and advanced skill instruction.
14u Equipment Needs
Required:
- Glove
- Softball pants
- Fielder’s face mask
- Cleats
Recommended:
- Water bottle
- Softball bat
- Batting helmet (black helmets are encouraged to match team uniforms and equipment)
St. Louis Park Fastpitch provides each player with a team jersey and socks. Teams will also have shared batting helmets and catcher’s equipment available for use throughout the season.
